Elk Herd Visiting Willowrun

Ah spring!  The mountains nearby are still covered in snow so the elk must come down to graze.  You can’t tell from this quick shot I was able to grab, but there were over 100 head in this herd – an offshoot of the thousands of elk that run in the Bosque del Oso ten miles down the highway from here.
